ROCHESTER, N.Y. — After closing it's popular Mario's Restaurant on Monroe Avenue two and a half years ago, the Daniele family announced plans to open a new restaurant.

The family says it originally planned to re-open Mario's in the New Whole Foods Plaza in Brighton.

However, delays in obtaining zoning approvals from the town prompted the Danieles to change their plans.

Instead, they will open "Mario's Homemade Pasta Kitchen" at the site of Bazil's Restaurant on Empire Boulevard.

The family says it will close its Bazil's restaurant in late May and re-open the new restaurant in June.
