ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The International League is stepping in with possible plans if the Rochester Red Wings and Monroe County can't come to an agreement on a lease for Frontier Field.

The IL's president says it's possible to have an arrangement where the team would play in Syracuse or Buffalo next season, the two closest IL members.

That is if the team and Monroe County can't finalize a lease deal in the near future.

The two tentatively agreed to a ten-year lease in August, but the two sides still haven’t finalized it.

Currently the Wings are operating on a month-to-month stadium agreement.

Part of the negotiations center on who will pay for $6 million in upgrades to the stadium.

Assemblyman Joseph Morelle (D-136) is looking for an explanation as to why the county hasn't claimed a $1.5 million capitol grant from the state from 2014.

A county spokesperson says it spent nearly all that money on a new pedestrian bridge lightening enhancement and other improvements.
