JOHNSBURG, N.Y. — A popular peak in the southern Adirondacks is getting a new owner.

The Open Space Institute has acquired a property in Warren County which included Huckleberry Mountain.

The mountain features scenic views and high cliffs.

The property will now connect to the Wilcox Lake Wild Forrest in Johnsburg.

Other mountain futures include rock climbing routes.

Officials say once the new trailhead is open to the public, it will allow easier access to both the forest and mountain.
