ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The snow may have settled at Orchard Park, but the Bills quarterback situation still hasn't.

"Tyrod has made progress over the last couple of days," said Bills head coach Sean McDermott. "That'll be a day-to-day thing as we move forward this week, so anything more than that right now would be premature. And then with Nate;Nate is in the concussion protocol."

McDermott says Taylor is the starter when healthy. Positive signs point that direction with the Bills not interested, as of now, in bringing in another quarterback.

"With the medical reports that we've gotten to this point, which is still early, and Brandon and I still coming off of the game from yesterday, we're still going through our process, but for right now with where we are in our week, I feel confident in what we've got," McDermott said.

That confidence also wrapped around his decision to punt on 4th and 1 from the Colts 41 with 4:13 to go in overtime. McDermott stands by the move after the game and a day later, even knowing what a tie meant to the Bills playoff chances.

"In this case it worked out and I would do it again, but understand this, every situation's different," McDermott said. "No two situations are exactly the same. I felt confident that we could get the ball back with four minutes and change to go. We talked about it and wanted to use a timeout to talk about it. We knew it was at a pivotal point in the game, so those were good discussions. And then today we come back, even though it worked out, we continue to learn and focus on the process of growing from it even though it worked this time."

And working this time has the Bills currently on the inside of the AFC playoff picture, thanks to an obscure, seldom-use tiebreaker.
