An Ohio hunter accused of accidentally shooting a moving truck is facing charges in Chautauqua County.

Sheriff's Deputies say the incident happened around 11:30 a.m. Friday near North Harmony State Forest outside Panama.

They say a caller reported the pickup truck was hit by a bullet as it were passing Snake Forest Road.

The shot landed just a few feet from the passengers, tore through the engine compartment and disabled the pickup.

State officials say 26-year-old Marvin Miller thought the brown-colored truck was a deer and shot at it with a high-powered rifle.

He was charged with reckless endangerment and discharging a firearm across a public roadway.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
