Tyrod Taylor's time as the Bills starting quarterback is complicated to assess.

On one hand, he won more games than he lost, including helping lead the Bills to ending their 17-year playoff drought. But he doesn't do what QBs do in this day in age, averaging just over 200 yards passing a game.

While the team's moved on from Taylor on the field, he has left a lasting impression with some of those left behind on it.

"Football I think is all about routine, a little bit about what we do. He definitely showed me a great routine, great work ethic and taught me a lot just by watching him, just how to be a leader,” quarterback Nathan Peterman said. “You don't necessarily always have to be the one yelling and screaming but the guys respect you a lot by just what you do. He showed me a lot."

"It's his level of professionalism, who he is, the character, the way he spoke and the way he led this team,” said linebacker Lorenzo Alexander. “Obviously, impacted many guys on this team including myself and I know Cleveland is benefitting from that now. Obviously, you can see that on ‘Hard Knocks,’ the first still in there at like five o'clock in the morning doing his thing and that's who he is and that work ethic  regardless of what you think as a quarterback is very important and can raise people's games and definitely helps the teams coach and foundation being successful."

"He's always kind of finding ways to critique his game, work on his game. I've always got him in the weight room working on his body and it's really pushed me to get to that level  where he was at, to where he's eating the right food, he has his own meals, he's stretching, he's meeting with our training,” said defensive end Jerry Hughes. “When you have somebody like that, showing the young guys how to work, the guys in his room still kind of following that lead, showing up at 5:30 in the weight room, putting in the extra work in the film and things like that, even on the practice field as we speak it's going to work out great for our team."

Sean McDermott said he has great respect for Taylor and wishes him nothing but the best. Taylor told media in Cleveland earlier in the week that the way things ended with the Bills is definitely a motivating factor this season. It should be interesting to see the interactions between both sides when they meet Friday night in Cleveland.
