Well the polls are now open. After months of debate, New Yorkers now have the chance to turn their words into action.

There are plenty of races to keep an eye on nationwide, including here in New York where there is a lot on the line.

In the race for governor, Andrew Cuomo is seeking his third term as New York's chief executive, looking to fend off Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro.

In a Siena College poll last month, the governor held a large 22 point lead over Molinaro, but in a new poll released this week Molinaro saw his deficit dwindle to just 13 points.

The New York's attorney general is another statewide race.

Democrat Tish James and Republican Keith Wofford both are in the race to represent the state.

Barbara Underwood is currently serving as attorney general — she was appointed after Eric Schneiderman resigned amid abuse allegations, and she opted not to run.

The New York 19th district is a tight race that could impact congressional balance of power.

Antonio Delgado is campaigning to unseat incumbent Congressman John Faso.

Polling puts those two candidates neck and neck.

In the 18th district, Republican candidate James O’Donnell is taking on incumbent Democratic representative Sean Patrick Maloney.

Also on the ballot, for voters in the 39th district, is Democrat James Skoufis and Republican Tom Basile, facing off for a seat on the state Senate.
