For the second time in nearly as many weeks, Elma residents are reporting a rash of car break-ins and cases of vandalism.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office says 14 cars were broken into and damaged between Saturday and Monday.

Cash, credit cards, sunglasses, keys, medical equipment and other items were stolen from the cars. Some owners reported tires were slashed as well.

The thefts and damages were reported along Bartlett, North Star and Winspear roads.

It was on May 10 that the sheriff’s office reported 11 cars were broken in to on Oaknoll Court, Hilltop Drive and Woodard Roads.
