A Silver Creek man who lied to Erie County Sheriffs about his name kicked and head-butted them while being arrested.

Gage Laspesa, 20, of Silver Creek, was pulled over around 9 p.m. for traffic law violations. When a deputy asked for his driver’s license, Laspesa said he didn’t have it with him but gave a name and date of birth. When it was determined that the name was not his, the deputy went back and ask Laspesa several times to get out of the vehicle.

Later, when they determined his real name, deputies found there was a warrant for Laspesa’s arrest in Chautauqua County on possession of a controlled substance. It was then he started head-butting and kicking deputies.

Additionally, deputies found marijuana and illegal fireworks in Laspesa’s vehicle.

He’s facing two felony counts of assaulting an officer, misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration and false personification, two violations for marijuana and illegal firework possession and traffic and vehicle violations.

Laspesa is at the Erie County Holding Center until his arraignment.

The passenger in the vehicle at the time, identified as Laura Park, 29, of Elma, also faces charges of unlawful possession of fireworks. She was released with appearance tickets.
