BUFFALO, N.Y. — A 19-year-old man is in critical condition after a shooting on Shepard Street early Monday morning, Buffalo Police confirm.

Police blocked off a large area in the 100 block of Shepard Street around 1 a.m. and were concentrated around one particular home. An ambulance was seen driving away from a house with its lights and sirens on.

This is the second time this month police have been called to this block. On February 6, police responded to the scene where a transgender woman was shot and killed.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office is investigating whether a shooting death in Buffalo's Emerson neighborhood may have been a potential hate crime.
