BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo teenagers accused of beating and stabbing a man to death appeared in court Wednesday.

It was standing-room-only in Buffalo City Court as 17-year-old Alexandria Heath and 19-year-old Romaine Jirdon waived their right to a felony hearing.

The two are charged with second-degree murder, accused of killing Alexandria Heath's father, 58-year-old Thomas Heath.

Police say it happened Friday night in Heath's West Ferry Street home.

Earlier in the week, the two pleaded not guilty.

If convicted, the defendants face a maximum of 25 years to life in prison.

The case will now go to a grand jury.
