NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y.  — A Rochester man is accused of driving drunk and crashing into another vehicle in Niagara Falls. 

Police arrested 55-year-old Douglas Hammond Wednesday night. They say around 8:30 p.m., Hammond was driving on John Daly Boulevard when he turned into the path of an oncoming car near Rainbow Boulevard.

A 22-year-old woman riding in the car was rushed to ECMC with a serious head injury. Officers say she's currently in stable condition.

Neither driver was injured.

Hammond is charged with a DWI, vehicular assault and failure to yield the right of way.
