BATAVIA, N.Y. -- An arrest has been made after a Buffalo man was stabbed in the throat Friday night.

Jeffrey Barr is now charged with second-degree attempted murder.

Deputies say the 18-year-old stabbed the victim behind a shopping plaza on Veterans Memorial Drive in Batavia.

They say the victim then walked across the street to Batavia Downs Gaming, where someone found him and called police.

He was taken to ECMC with serious injuries.

Barr was arrested Saturday night and arraigned in Batavia Town Court.

He's being held at Genesee County Jail on no bail.

Deputies say his motive is unclear at this time.
