Tremaine Edmunds is showing early he's a man of few words.

"It's exciting, man. Getting out here with these pros and just going to work and just learning and getting better every day,” said Edmunds.

Which he did during the break between minicamp and training camp.

"Can't really take breaks in this sport. I was in my playbook, just going over things, refreshing my mind. Just staying locked in with it,” he said.

And it's paying off early at St. John Fisher College.

"I feel like I'm getting better every day. I'm just going to continue to lock into my playbook and continue to do what I have to do,” Edmunds said.

Edmunds may keep it short and sweet, but there's plenty of others with the Bills that expand on what the rookie's doing so far. As he stands above the defense physically, it's how he runs it that's critical — and what's earned praise from the coaching staff.

"He is a guy that expects a lot of himself and certainly we expect a lot of him. He is off to a good start, picked up where he left off in the spring, and the communication part will be big. That he can run our defense not only know what he is doing, but what the people around him are doing. To anticipate so he can check us in and out of some defenses,” said head coach Sean McDermott.

"The communication with, not only getting things communicated to the rest of the defense, but [as a player] I’m also being able to make sure I’m where I’m supposed to be, because that also creates credibility with my teammates. There are a lot of factors that go into being the middle linebacker, leading a defense and doing things that are going to help you make an impact. It’ll happen in time for him,” said defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier.

So far, so good for Tremaine Edmunds, as his play's doing the real talking.
