Two men are being held by Poughkeepsie police after reports of someone being tied up and beaten.

Officers found an as-yet unidentified man dead in a first-floor apartment on Marshall Street.

David Perry, 49, was stopped while leaving the apartment and was detained by police. While being questioned by police, Perry admitted that he and another man, identified as 19-year-old Daniel Barletta, were trying to rob the victim. The victim died during the struggle.

Barletta was found in New York City and arrested.

Both men are being held until their arraignment.
