Jorja Roman is a videojournalist for Spectrum News. She graduated from the University at Albany in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in journalism and communication. Prior to graduating, she interned in the Albany newsroom. She joined the team as a news assistant a month after graduating and became a reporter in April of 2016.
Jorja grew up in the Capital Region and loves telling the stories of people in her hometown. She has reported on the heroin epidemic throughout the area, including the push for legislation called "Laree's Law." Jorja spent the last two summers reporting from Saratoga Race Course covering everything from horse racing to arts and entertainment in the spa city. In the spring of 2017 she launched a segment called Roman's Rescues where she features animal adoption organizations each week and highlights an animal that needs a home.
Jorja is thrilled to be using her passion for writing and storytelling in her hometown. When not working, she loves spending time with family and friends, shopping, and traveling.
