Jaclyn Cangro joined Spectrum News in February 2017 as a videojournalist in the Albany newsroom.
She loves covering breaking news and giving those in the community the information they need to know.
Jaclyn won a 2012 New England Emmy award for best college newscast while a student at Emerson College.
After graduating, Jaclyn spent more than three years working as an anchor and reporter in Bangor, Maine. There, she produced and reported on a series of special reports, including the Maine State Police’s effort to stop the spread of child pornography.
Previous stories Jaclyn has covered include the Boston Marathon bombing and the 2016 New Hampshire primary. Her coverage of the primary led to recognition from the Maine Association of Broadcasters, winning her and her producer third place in Election Coverage. This was the only solo reporter team to be recognized in the category.
Jaclyn is a native, and proud, New Yorker. She was born and raised in Eastchester, which is appropriately in Westchester County. When not on TV, Jaclyn can most likely be found rooting for the New York Mets.
