The owners of the recently damaged Millerhurst Dairy Farm stopped by Groggers Bar & Grill outside Poughkeepsie to see yet another massive show of support.

"This is basically all for them," Groggers Owner Anthony Ricciardi said of Sunday's line dancing fundraiser that had a large response from the community.

Ricciardi organized the event with two local DJs.

They collected $10 donations at the door, and donated all food proceeds to the Miller family's efforts to recoup their losses.

"The line dancing community is very huge," said DJ Rich Maruggi, who goes by the stage name, ‘DJ Redneck.’ "There was such a big tragedy up there in Ancramdale with the farm that we felt that we needed to do something."

A barn on the family's farm — which began operating in 1770, making it one of the oldest dairy farms in New York State — caught fire last Sunday evening, killing 46 cattle.

Judging by the early response to the four-hour-long line dancing fundraiser, the Millers made an indelible mark on the community during more than 200 years of operating the farm.

"Everybody shared it on Facebook and came together," said DJ John Kellermann, who goes by the stage name, 'DJ Johnny K.’ "We had 20,000 shares altogether. It blew up."

"I know we'll never, ever take away what they've lived through and the tragedy they went through," Maruggi said. "But you know what? If this could help them rebuild, that's what we're trying to do."

Less than two hours into the line dancing fundraiser, they raised about $1,000 just through donations at the door.

It should not be surprising, considering the responses to other fundraisers over the past week since the fire.

Another fundraising effort by a Pine Plains cafe raised more than $1,000 in eight hours through coffee sales and a donation jar. In a post on Facebook, cafe management said employees even decided to donate a day's worth of tips to the Millers.

And the biggest response of all came to an online fundraiser that has generated more than $100,000. The original goal for the fundraiser was $20,000.
