KINGSTON, N.Y. -- Addiction, abuse and depression survivors and their families gather Wednesday at the Kingston's Boys and Girls Club to share their stories.

Break The Cycle, a group of educational speakers, spoke in front of an audience filled with young people vulnerable to the same types of dangers.

Three speakers on the topics of addiction, abuse, depression and suicide tied their talks into one central theme of forgiveness.

"If you don't forgive whoever it is that actually did something to you, you're actually holding your own life up. And I got that from this message, so I know that these kids got that from this message as well. It's important, it's priceless,” said Ulster County Youth Bureau Director Nina Dawson.

In addition to the speakers, the community was treated to a BBQ and copies of the group's book, Why Forgive?
