New York’s Democratic primary is just under two weeks away, and the candidates are making their final push.

Cynthia Nixon, fresh off her heated debate with Gov. Andrew Cuomo, paid a visit to the Capital Region Sunday morning.

Her first stop was the Schenectady Farmers Market on Jay Street, and later the steps of Schenectady City Hall there for a rally, before she headed north to Saratoga Springs.

Nixon spent the majority of her morning in Schenectady talking to concerned upstate New York citizens, and addressing their many concerns.

Spectrum News asked Nixon how she would address issues affecting families in the Capital Region.

“We have to do a much better job investing in infrastructure, transportation, certainly, roads, bridges, clean water, and I think we need a plan to get to a $15 minimum wage across the state, and broadband, I think broadband is a real big issue that if we could do a better job of broadband reaching everybody people could have more freedom about where they could live," said Nixon.

“I've definitely been looking for an alternative to Governor Cuomo and she has expressed pretty much all of the concerns about Cuomo, she’s called him out about all the stuff I dislike about his time in office," said Danielle O'Brien, a Nixon supporter.
