The family of Vincent Viafore and Angelika Graswald have come to a legal settlement.

In 2017, Graswald pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide for her fiancé’s death.

Viafore drowned during a kayaking trip on the Hudson River with Graswald.

Graswald is going to drop the appeal she has to her criminal conviction.

The Viafore family will drop their lawsuits against Graswald, a wrongful death suit and a suit to prevent her from access to Viafore's life insurance, which she was a beneficiary of.

"The entirety of the sum is going from the commissioner of finance, or whoever is holding it in Dutchess County, to the administratrix's attorney, who is then going to disperse it pursuant to the terms of the settlement," said Graswald's Surrogate Court Attorney Tony Piscionere.

Both attorneys tell Spectrum News the details of the financial settlement are confidential.
