Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler is launching an initiative to fight bias crimes in the county.

Along with the Orange County Jewish Federation, the groups will design an initiative to raise awareness about anti-Semitism and other diversity issues. That initiative will include educational materials for the public and training for police officers.

This all comes after the Temple Beth Shalom cemetery was vandalized in Warwick two years ago. Police found swastikas and other anti-Semitic markings and sayings written along the stone wall of the cemetery.

The cemetery was rededicated this past weekend with new walls, free of the vandalism.
