The Ulster County deputy director of Emergency Management says the worst hit areas in Ulster County were Saugerties and the hamlet of Wallkill.

An oak tree on Virginia Street in Saugerties fell right on top of a house.

A 90-year-old man lives at the home and his daughter says she was about to leave for the night right when a tree crashed down on her car.

She said she feels lucky.

A Central Hudson spokesperson says there are about 3,800 outages in Ulster, and there are more than 60,000 outages in the service area.

At one point he said wind gusts were up to 78 miles per hour.
