Representative Sean Patrick Maloney has delivered letters written by Hudson Valley students about gun violence to House Speaker Paul Ryan.

Maloney delivered more than 200 letters to the speaker, who will not seek re-election.

Shortly after the Parkland, Fla., school shooting, Maloney launched a campaign to encourage students to voice their concerns, offer suggestions and ask questions about gun safety. He received letters from students on both sides of the debate throughout the counties he represents.

"Students across the country are leading the national conversation on gun violence in our schools," Maloney said, adding "their voices should be heard."
