A $40 million renovation project at Bon Secours Community Hospital is underway.
The updates coming to the Port Jervis hospital include equipment upgrades and the development of a medical village hub. The development will be done in four phases -- with the first including renovation and expansion of the emergency room.
"This will supplement what the hospital already does, which is a fantastic inpatient facility and a number of outpatient services we deliver," said WMC Health President/CEO Michael Israel. "But what this will continue to do is exapnd the continuum of services we deliver and are available to the community in Port Jervis and the region."
A new welcome entrance will be built. The lounge for patients and family will also be expanded. Three dozen semi-private rooms will be converted to private rooms, which officials say will increase patient comfort.
