Syracuse University Chancellor Kent Syverud has announced the permanent expulsion of the school's chapter of Theta Tau.

The Daily Orange posted one of the videos that were made at the fraternity house. The video contained racist, homophobic and sexist content.

In a video statement, Syverud called the content 'disgusting.' He says the Dean of Students delivered a letter to the fraternity about its expulsion Saturday.

Syverud also says the incident has prompted a top to bottom review of the entire Greek system.

Reactions from students varied.

Many Syracuse University students are applauding the decision to expel the fraternity chapter of Theta Tau.

"I think it was the right decision by Syracuse University, I think they took the proper steps to make sure that it was the entirety of the right decision. I think they did a good job. They need to be kicked off campus for what they did, it was disgusting," says Zeus Rocancourt, a fellow member of the Greek fraternity system.

Some other students believe the chapter expulsion was enough punishment - and don't believe the students involved should see further implications.

"I think just sending the message, showing them its not OK, its enough," says freshman Angelina Torres.

The Department of Public Safety will begin recommending charges for individual students by the end of the weekend. Students could face suspension or expulsion from the school.

The process could include a hearing for each student.
