These pipers and drummers are making the rounds across the Hudson Valley, on their Mad Dog World Tour celebrating St. Patrick's Day.

The Firefighter McPadden pipe and drum band began about nine years ago, named in honor of New York City firefighter Robert McPadden who was killed on September 11.

The band is made up of nearly 30 members of all ages, playing in competitions throughout the year and making apperances in local parades and pubs to raise money for activities. They also teach new members how to play.

"Being a New York City fireman it's nice to be able to compete in [McPadden's] name and in his honor," says Manhattan firefighter Robert Bennett. "They've taught me everything I know, and it's been a great process and people I've met along the way have been great people."

The band performed at the Jeffersonville St. Patricks Day parade this year and has performed there since the parade began. They're planning to host a competition in Orange County later this year for the second time.
