Another milestone was crossed in the construction of the new Kartrite Hotel and Indoor Waterpark in Sullivan County when workers installed the final 1,500-pound steel beam, marking the completion of the structural phase of the project.

Officials and construction workers celebrated the event by signing the beam and hoisting it into the air with an American flag and a tree.

The water park project is a part of the Resorts World Catskills campus and will provide a different experience from the casino, according to officials. The $150 million property will include amenities for youth and adults.

"Because of our indoor water park and all of our indoor adventures and the things we are going to offer, it's really going to be a family adventure, a family destination," said Kelly Jaffe, marketing manager for Kartrite Hotel & Indoor Waterpark.

Officials say the next step will be to add walls and roofing to the building. They're targeting opening for around spring break 2019.
