POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A Poughkeepsie city councilman said more needs to be done to help residents of an affordable housing complex who have insufficient heat.

Councilman Chris Petsas said dozens of residents of Rip Van Winkle House have told him that they have had little to no heat since early November. He said he has contacted management several times, but many residents are still without heat, and he has also contacted several government officials about it.

Poughkeepsie Mayor Rob Rolison said city workers have visited the site several times including on Monday and will be meeting with the building department and city attorney on Tuesday to see what else can be done.

Petsas said that the city passed a resolution to subpoena property managers before the council, but he wants the mayor to take them to court.
