ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation at University of Rochester are going to the next level.

A group of nine current and former staff members filed a federal lawsuit on Friday.

It claims the university, President Joel Seligman and Provost Robert Clark didn't properly respond to complaints about Professor Florian Jaeger, who is accused of behaving inappropriately with prospective students, bullying students within his program and using his position to control graduate student social life.

An internal investigation by the school cleared him after the group filed an EEOC complaint, but he has since been suspended.

The lawsuit seeks a jury trail for an unspecified amount of damages.

The university responded with a statement saying that the lawsuit wasn't unexpected and they won't comment on it until the ongoing independent investigation is complete.
