DURHAM -- A Greensboro family is wrapping up the year with a smile because 11-year-old Joshua Thornton is now cancer-free.

After spending most of the year living at the Ronald McDonald House of Durham, they’re now putting the wheels in motion to turn their vision of owning a food truck into a reality.

They’re calling their business venture “Mac & Cheese Ministry”.

In March 2017, Joshua Thornton, was diagnosed with leukemia.

He received a bone marrow transplant over the summer and after months of strenuous treatment he’s now on the road to recovery.

Thornton says his vision of running a food truck with his family helped motivate him during chemotherapy.

The family is calling on the community to help them raise money so their dream of taking “Mac & Cheese Ministry” on the road can become a reality.
