BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo's Black Rock neighborhood is shining a little brighter, all thanks to one local group.

This is the tenth year that “The B Team Buffalo” has transformed a local neighborhood just in time for the holidays.

Its annual "City of Light" tradition is the group's oldest and most popular.

This year, more than 120 volunteers took on about 65 homes and businesses.

But they didn't stop there.

Volunteers also held a holiday carnival for local kids and then paraded down to Market Square for a tree lighting ceremony.

"It's one of those things where you kind of think 'Does anyone else really want to do something good?' But then you put the opportunity out and people sign up on their own. They want to share some of their holiday spirit and they bring it to us,” said “B-Team” volunteer Adam Berry.

All of the supplies were purchased through generous donations from sponsors.

Organizers say Black Rock residents get to keep those decorations and they'll even take them down for them next February.
