NEW PALTZ, N.Y. -- SUNY New Paltz is preparing teachers and faculty to be safe in the face of danger.

The university held a partial lockdown drill at Wooster Hall Wednesday afternoon. In the scenario, a disgruntled student entered the building and started shooting.

During the drill, campus police, other faculty and students had a chance to practice how they would respond if a similar situation happened in real life.

The campus police chief said there will be a campus-wide drill next fall.
