A Maryland man was sentenced to 11 years in prison after admitting to having sexual contact with an Esopus teenager.

Daniel Poole was sentenced Wednesday in Ulster County Court, after pleading guilty to criminal sex act and rape back in July.

The Ulster County Sheriff's Office says that Poole had an online relationship with the teen and traveled to the area in June of 2016 where he met with the victim in a remote area.

He'll spend 11 years in prison. Post release, Poole will serve 10 years probation, and will also be required to register as a sex offender.

An order of protection is in place until 2046.
