ULSTER, N.Y. -- The Kerhonkson woman who struck and killed a town of Ulster teenager with her car has now been charged with criminally neglegent homicide.

Sheriffs deputies say 69-year-old Carol Melamed was driving her car on the afternoon of June 22nd on the shoulder of Lucas Avenue, striking 17-year-old Jennifer Curry.

Curry later died at HealthAlliance hospital in Kingston.

Deputies say it didn't appear Melamed was driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time.

She was arraigned in Kingston City Court and released on her own recognizance.
