POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- IBM is making good on its commitment to hire more veterans, including in the Hudson Valley.

The company held a training session at Dutchess Community College to teach veterans how to use IBM software, which is used by law enforcement, cyber security, and national security agencies.

It's part of IBM's Veteran Employment Accelerator Grant Program, which is preparing veterans for jobs such as data analysts and other positions that do not require the typical four-year degree. Part of the program is designed to assist veterans with being placed at jobs with IBM and other companies.

IBM is teaming up with Corporate America Supports You, a national non-profit that specializes in job placement for veterans.
