POTSDAM, N.Y. -- It was a party on the campus of Clarkson University on Tuesday, as the school celebrated a national championship.

The Clarkson women's hockey team won the crown earlier this month -- its second in four years -- by beating Wisconsin 3-0. The team only lost one time in its 35 games. Students, alumni and fans filled Cheel Arena for the celebration. They got to get autographs from the team members and take pictures with the NCAA championship trophy.

"It's so cool," said senior captain Cayley Mercer. "It's awesome to see the whole Potsdam community, the Clarkson community come out and support us. They rallied with us all season long and they gave us opportunities to be successful with their dedication to our program. It's so special to be able to celebrate with everyone."

"We get such a good following from the community here in Potsdam and everyone on campus here," said coach Matt Desrosiers. "That's really part of the reason why we've been successful. That attracts the recruits that we get. They want to be a part of something like this."
