NEWBURGH, N.Y. -- For Newburgh residents like Nilda Rodriguez the efforts of Habitat for Humanity changed her life.

On Saturday Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh dedicated the 83rd house at 24 S. Miller Street.

The rehabbed home is one of four on the block and built in partnership with the Newburgh Community Land Bank.

At Saturday's ceremony, new homeowners like Rodriguez received the keys to their new home.

"I know, oh my god, can you believe that? I am so, so, so happy," Rodriguez said.

The project was lead by women leaders and volunteers, making up a predominantly female-led project.
