Officials are taking the next steps in creating the Hudson River SkyWalk, which would connect two local historic sites.

Governor Andrew Cuomo announced $124,000 in grant money that will go toward funding an economic impact study, as well as the planning and design of the scenic pedestrian trail.

The Skywalk is expected to link the Olana State Historic Site in the town of Greenport with the Thomas Cole National Historic Site in the village of Catskill. It would include walking trails on the Rip Van Winkle Bridge, which is also being renovated as part of Cuomo's statewide infrastructure investment plan.
