It's official: After months of trying to woo developers, sources tell TWC News that Legoland will be coming to Orange County.

Developers officially purchased land in Goshen on Monday. The theme park is expected to be the largest in the entire world, beating out both California and Florida.

Governor Andrew Cuomo, Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus and Legoland officials are expected to make the formal announcement within the next week or so. The park will employ more than 1,500 people and include many amenities, such as an education center, water park and aquarium.

Sources say construction on the close to $1 billion project is set to begin within the year, with an expected completion by 2019.
