If you're looking to take in the colors of fall, may I suggest:

*A boat ride on the Erie Canal aboard the Sam Patch.  Found at Schoen Place, Pittsford, N.Y., the three daily rides take you past the beauty of the tree-lined canal system on a leisurely 90-minute ride.  Tickets available at the kiosk before you board or online for a discount. Reserve soon because the season ends on October 22.  (585) 662-5748 www.sampatch.org

*How about a chairlift ride into the Bristol mountains to take in the colors of fall in Canandaigua? The Comet Express takes you to the top and back weekends now through October 29.  (585) 374-6000 www.bristolmountain.com/fall-sky-rides/

*Waterfalls surrounded by the colors of fall is another great way to celebrate season. Try Letchworth State Park, the gorge trail at Watkins Glen State Park, Pratt's Fall off Route 20 in Manlius, Onondaga County or even a road trip along the Lake Ontario State Parkway's Seaway Trail into Orleans County.
