New York State Police have identified the body of a woman found in Wappinger Creek last month.

Troopers say the body of 36-year-old Ashanti Moore from Brooklyn was found in the creek near Maloney Road in the Town of Wappinger. Authorities have not said how Moore died.

Moore's body was found partially submerged on February 27 in a tributary of Wappinger Creek. Before her death, investigators say Moore had traveled throughout New York State and Pennsylvania from August to September of last year. State Police say she could have also spent time in Tennsessee and Georgia as well.

Anyone with information or who may have crossed paths with Moore before she died is asked to call State Police Troop K headquarters at (845) 677-7300.
