ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Fire Department has labeled Monday morning's fire at 3 Latinos Restaurant as arson.

The restaurant, located at the corner of West Ridge Road and Palm Street, was not open at the time. No one was injured.

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the two-story building.

Restaurant owner Alfredo Pardo says his family opened the restaurant eight years ago.

"At the time of the fire nobody was in there," said Steve Batz, Rochester Fire Department. "The restaurant was closed. We did a thorough search of all the floors, primary and secondary searches and nobody was in there. Quite a bit of fire on the first floor. We knocked it down quickly. We are lucky it didn't extend to the second floor more."

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 585-423-9300.
