An 18-year-old has admitted to working with others to spray paint swastikas at a town of Warwick cemetery.

Eric Carbonaro pleaded guilty Wednesday to conspiracy as a hate crime and tampering with physical evidence. The Orange County DA's office says it follows an October 2016 incident at Beth Shalom Cemetery.

Other anti-Semitic symbols were spray painted as well, including the message 'Heil Hitler.' Prosecutors say Carbonaro admitted his acts were linked to beliefs about the religion and heritage of those buried.

The DA says participants later deleted evidence on phones and Carbonaro asked them to change related testimony. Hoovler says he will recommend a sentence that involves incarceration, calling it a pre-meditated hate crime.
