A Newburgh man learned his fate after pleading guilty to a fatal hit-and-run last summer.
Milton Galdamez-Pena admitted to driving his car over a gas station employee twice, then taking off. It happened at the Shell Station on Broadway in the city July 30.
Galdamez-Pena left the victim severely injured. He succumbed to his injuries the next day.
On Thursday, Galdamez-Pena was sentenced to 1 and 1/3 to 4 years in state prison for leaving the scene of an injury incident without reporting it.
