A Monticello man was sentenced for killing his boss in 2016.

The Sullivan County District Attorney's Office says Ricky Bolden will spend the next 21 years-to-life in prison for killing John Ferrari at the Pardess Bungalow Colony in Thompson.

Bolden worked for Ferrari, who was the caretaker for the bungalow colony.

Bolden admitted in September to killing Ferrari by hitting him multiple times in the head with a shovel.

The 61-year-old Ferrari was from Riverdale, New Jersey. His body was found at the colony in September of 2016.

The DA's office says investigators found Ferrari's blood on Bolden's sneakers and clothing.
