A Columbia County man was pronounced dead after a crash in the parking lot of a Mexican restaurant in Claverack.

Ronald Moore of Stuyvesant was heading north on State Routes 9H and 23 around 7 p.m. Tuesday when deputies said his Suburban left the road. The Chevy crashed into a Jeep and then several vehicles in the parking lot of Coyote Flaco.

Moore was taken to the hospital, then pronounced dead. He was 73.

The driver of the Jeep, a 54-year-old Hudson man, was hospitalized after experiencing chest pains. No one was inside any of the other vehicles in the parking lot.

Deputies are investigating why Moore's vehicle left the road.
