BETHEL, N.Y. — A Bethel man is arrested on multiple charges after he allegedly attempted to hit a police car head-on.

According to the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, deputies were trying to stop 35-year-old Joshua VanDuser on State Route 55 in Swan Lake. VanDuser was wanted for stealing a trail camera in the town of Liberty.

Sheriff's Office officials say when deputies initially pulled him over, VanDuser sped off toward Kauneonga Lake toward his Gabriel Road home. While fleeing, officials say VanDuser attempted to ram a town of Bethel Constable's car head-on, and run deputies off the road.

Officers arrested him as he got out of a car, which was owned by his employer, a medical appointment transport company.

VanDuser is charged with reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and misdemeanors of fleeing an officer, and resisting arrest. He's also facing 22 traffic tickets in connection with the chase.
