We've been discussing how there are more women running for office this election year than in the past.

When it comes to the state Senate, there are ten women who are running against another female.

That includes Emily Martz.

She lost the Democratic primary for the 21st congressional district to Tedra Cobb.

Now, she is hoping to unseat Republican incumbent Betty Little in the 45th Senate district - a seat Little has held since 2002.

The district consists of Clinton, Essex, Franklin and Warren counties, and, parts of St. Lawrence and Washington counties.
