An adjunct professor or lecturer is a part-time position at a college or university. For many, it's the first step in acquiring a tenure-track faculty job. An adjunct gets paid by course, which for CUNY is $3,5000 each, a number that these adjuncts say it just too low. Tuesday, they rallied at the state capitol, calling for doubling that number to $7,000 per course. Joining us to talk more about this are Stacey Engels, a CUNY adjunct lecturer in the English department, and Barbara Bowen, president of the Professional Staff Congress.
